V Swans recently held the Kicking and Shooting Goals Volunteer Awards. These awards recognise students who volunteered a great amount of their time to the community through sport and recreational activities. Each student acknowledged at the awards had contributed more than 10 hours of volunteering in the community.

All students were awarded a certificate of achievement.  The Volunteer of The Year award was given to the student with the most hours volunteered as part of the Shooting Goals and Kicking Goals programs.

VSwans would like to congratulate the winners of the awards below:

Volunteer of the Year

  • Talia Walker (Shooting Goals)
  • Harrison Parsons (Kicking Goals)

Both Talia and Harrison have been nominated by VSwans for the Newman Youth Citizen of the Year awards, due to their volunteering efforts throughout 2017.

All studnets who qualified for the awards have also been nominated for the Shire of East Pilbara Volunteer awards later in the year.

VSwans would like to thank all the students for volunteering this year either after school or on the weekends. Their efforts and time put into volunteering helped a number of commuity organisations in Newman throughout 2017.

VSwans would also like to thank Major Partner BHP and the support of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet
